Gorgeous Creatures Animal Darlings! By Euphrates
If you dig Hasbro's Peteena the Pampered Poodle you're gonna flip over Mattel's Gorgeous Creatures from 1979. Each "doll"
is 7 1/2-inches tall. The body is a shapely female figure but the heads are animals. I'm talking about a horse, a cow, a hippo
and a pig. Gorgeous. Each critter comes with accessories and a theme. For example Princess Pig comes with gown, hat,
shoes, stole, hanky, gloves, and her boyfriends picture. Her box is marked At The Resturaunt and indicates in an aside that
Princess Pig loves snacks.
Even though they are 13 years younger, Gorgeous Creatures are every bit as hard to find as Peteena but still not quite as pricey. If you do find one it is not uncommon for it to either still be in it's window box or completey naked. For some reason there doesn't seem to be much middle ground. This may be based on some "still-on-the-books" Animal Farm policy. "Animals will not wear human clothes out of the box."
