World of Love By Euphrates
Their names were Love (blonde hair), Peace (black hair), Flower (red hair), Soul (black hair)
and Adam - the only male. Predictably, this line of 9-inch dolls from Hasbro was from 1971 and Soul was the name of the
black doll. Surprised?
The dolls had hard-plastic torsos with trist and turn waists, rooted hair and eyelashes. In fact their bodies are very similar in shape to the old Peteena the Pampered Poodle line. The arms and legs were rubber with wire inserts which brings up a whole slew of problems now including wire penetrating the skin and/or turning the skin green. The World of Love clothing sets were wonderful with plenty of flowery dresses, quilted pants, headbands, floppy hats and fringed-suede. |
