Little Sophisticates By Euphrates
Meet the Little Sophisticates. These 8-inch whimsical socialites were made by Uneeda in
1967. The dolls were sturdily constructed of vinyl with rooted-hair and blue eye-shadow.
They were gawky and pigeon-toed but featured full neck/head articulation. Each haughty
doll in the 6-doll series (with names like Penelope, Marika and Suzana) appears to be saying
"Hmph, I shan't be opening any more presents today!"
Uneeda reissued the series, as they were frequently prone to do, in the '70s with 6.5-inch dolls called Tiny Sophisticates.
